We seek to raise environmental awareness through outreach events and storytelling while travelling on foot, engaging with local people and understanding their relationships with the landscape at a time of changing climates.

The project
2021 - 2022
Together we did the tour of Sicily on foot, a self-financed journey of 850 km, documenting our journey through digital storytelling.
2023
Thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign, Walter has solo-walked 500 km across the Italian hinterland, starting from the tip of Puglia and ending in Isernia (Molise), where the cammino paused temporarily.
In the future...
From a small pilot project managed by just two people, we are seeking organizations and sponsors to transform it into a travel report that explores the relationship between people and nature in the regions visited.
If you'd like to collaborate, we very much invite you to contact us here.
Book from the walk
We have written a book about our trip to Sicily, available in both Italian and English, which we printed in a limited edition for our supporters in April 2024. We will soon present it to publishing houses for a potential reprint.
One of the documentaries we make
While travelling on foot we make short videos with an iPhone and a drone. The one below is a great example of the relationship between geology, people and arts.
Who we are
We are a couple who met in the summer of 2021 in Rome.
In just a few months we found many common interests and decided to embark on this journey together. Along the way we developed both the project and the bond between us.
We are a geologist and an actress brought together by the common interest in storytelling.

What we do
We cross the Italian regions on foot to study and narrate the landscape. We check sources and then create content for social media such as videos and articles.
By doing so we promote local communities, crafts and traditions; we foster appreciation of the natural and artistic heritage of a place; we seek to awaken a sense of shared responsibility for environmental issues.
Why we do it
To rediscover a lost relationship with slowness, nature and landscapes.
To make people understand the beauty, fragility and uniqueness of the planet.
To convey to others what excites us about a place.
To awaken awe and wonder towards less-known places.
In short,
what is Adagio?
It is more than a journey to discover the geological landscape. Cammino Adagio combines the human and scientific aspects of our environment.
It also aims at giving voice to associations and local people who are willing to share their knowledge, traditions and love for their land.
Our principles
Exploration
Getting to know the world on foot, at a slower pace.
Sharing
Valuing everyone's skills and wisdom. Sharing with the people we meet down our path.
Growth
Nothing happens by chance. Each event can be a starting point for improvement, to grow in respect for others and the planet.
Simplicity
We are looking for a simple life, for the truest values.
Each landscape hides stories: geological stories, mythological stories, human stories. What characterizes the most beautiful, fragile and complex ecosystems? And the people who live there?
The best way to find answers is to travel on foot, to see how the great history of the earth influences our small personal stories.
